The goal of Sauti is to contribute to the improved health of all Tanzanians through a sustained reduction in new HIV infections in support of the government of Tanzania through deploying new, andlor enhancing existing, vulnerability-tailored high-quality combination HIV prevention: positive health, dignity and prevention (PHDP); and family planning (FP) services for key and vulnerable populations (KVP) in selected regions of Tanzania. Anticipated project results include: 1 increased and timely use of HIV prevention and FP services; 2) Improved positive behaviors and social norms at the individual and community leveLs; 3) Reduced vulnerability of women through novel structural interventions; and 4 Increasingly sustainable comprehensive HIV prevention services for KVP.<br />

ICAP at Columbia University will evaluate implementation of TB/HIV collaborative activities along with the TB/HIV continuum of care through a cooperative agreement under the Global Technical Assistance (TA) funding mechanism, supported by the U.S. Centers of Disease Control (CDC) and in collaboration with the Tanzania Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDEC). Assessment of collaborative TB/ HIV activities will provide information on TB prevention and control measures in Tanzania and inform recommendations to improve services in TB clinics and HIV care and treatment facilities in Tanzania. <br />

<b><u>Overall Job Function  </u></b><br />
Under the supervision of the Technical Director, the Project Coordinator will lead planning and implementation of the Global TA project, Evaluation of TB/HIV Collaborative Activities, in Tanzania. He/she will coordinate all evaluation activities including the retrospective collection of routine program data on the TB/HIV care cascade and assessment and strengthening of TB Infection Control (TBIC) measures to decrease TB transmission in selected health facilities. In addition, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for internal monitoring of all evaluation components and will adhere to ICAP and CDC reporting requirements. <br />

<b><u>Major Accountabilities  </u></b><br />
 Provide overall management support for the Evaluation of TB/HIV Collaborative Activities, in Tanzania.  Coordinate timely implementation of all project activities according to the objectives and timeline identified in the work plan.<br />
 Facilitate communication and collaboration between CDC, the MoHCDGEC, and other project stakeholders in order to achieve project objectives.<br />
 Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assure adherence to SOPs throughout project implementation.<br />
 Contribute to protocol development and adapt protocol for submission to the Tanzania National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR).<br />
 Assist with the selection of healthcare facilities to participate in the evaluation.<br />
 Assist with the development of data collection tools and supervise collection of routine TB/HIV program data and TBIC measures, including qualitative data, at selected sites with timely submission for analysis. <br />
 Coordinate TBIC strengthening activities at selected facilities in close collaboration with the Nurse Clinical Mentor at ICAP, CDC, and the MoHCDGEC. <br />
 Plan and co-facilitate training of health care workers in TBIC; provide on-site mentoring and support monitoring of TBIC strengthening activities at selected facilities. <br />
 Participate in the baseline and post-intervention assessment of TBIC measures at selected facilities and provide technical assistance to facilities in developing/refining TBIC plans.<br />
 Administer Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice surveys to health care workers at selected facilities. <br />
 Ensure that TBIC focal points at facilities have been identified and are actively engaged in implementation of TBIC plans. <br />
 Complete quarterly internal reports in order to assess adherence to the project timeline and develop action plans.<br />
 Contribute to the development of continuing application and final reports for CDC as well as other dissemination reports.<br />
 Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. <br />

<b><u>Required Qualification & Experience  </u></b><br />
 Degree in Public Health (MPH), Nursing, Medicine, Epidemiology or other related field.<br />
 Minimum of three years of experience in public health or medical research; TB/HIV research experience preferred.<br />
 Demonstrated supervisory experience in leading a team.<br />
 Good interpersonal communication and report writing skills.<br />
 Strong organizational skills.<br />
 High level skill of computer operation particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.<br />
 Fluency in English and Swahili. <br />
<br />
<b><u>Preferred Skills:  </u></b><br />
Experience conducting health surveys and evaluation. <br />
Location and Travel Requirements <br />
The position will be located in Dar es Salaam but will require some travel to Mwanza region participating in the evaluation. <br />

Under the supervision of the Nutrition Specialist (Stunting Reduction) P3,<strong><em>the Nutrition Officer (Prevention of micronutrient deficiencies among children, adolescents and women) is responsible to support Government and Civil Society partners to plan, implement, monitor and interventions for prevention of micronutrient deficiencies among children, adolescents and women</em></strong>. The Nutrition Officer provides technical support to the Government at the central (Ministries and Agencies) and decentralized (Local Government Authorities and Regionals Secretariats) level to: i) plan, implement, monitor and review six-monthly Child Health and Nutrition Months (CHNMs); ii) design, implement and monitor adequate interventions to achieve universal salt iodization (USI) in Tanzania and iii) design, implement and monitor adequate interventions to address anemia among children, adolescents and women. The Nutrition Officer is be based in Dar es Salaam, with frequent visit to Mbeya, Iringa, Njombe and Songwe region, and Zanzibar.</div>

In turn, this contributes to maintaining and enhancing the credibility and ability of UNICEF to continue to provide program services to mothers, newborn and children that promotes greater social equity in the country.</div>

<b>1.0 THE NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE FUND (NHIF) </b></div>

The National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) is a statutory Health Insurance Scheme established by the Act of Parliament No. 9 of 1999, to undertake the responsibility of insuring medical care service to its members.  </div>

The Fund commenced its operations in 2001. Its head office is located at , Kurasini- BenderaTatu Dar Es Salaam , and has  branch offices in Ilala, Temeke, Kinondoni, Morogoro, Dodoma, Moshi, Arusha , Tanga, Iringa, Mbeya, Rukwa, Ruvuma, Mtwara, Mwanza, Mara , Tabora, Kigoma, Lindi, Singida, Shinyanga, Kibaha, Kagera, Manyara, Geita, Njombe, Katavi, Simiyu, and  Zanzibar. </div>

<b><u><span style="color: red;">1.12 DRIVER III – 12  POST </span></u></b><br />
<br />
<b>1.12.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES </b><br />
 Drive Fund’s motor vehicles<br />
 Maintain vehicle’s Log book<br />
 Report motor vehicles defects.<br />
 Provide technical advice regarding motor vehicle maintenance.<br />
 Observe driving procedures, traffic rules and regulations.<br />
 Ensure the motor vehicle is in clean at all times.<br />
 Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Human Resources and Administration Officer. <br />

<b>1.12.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE  </b><br />
  Holder of Certificate of Ordinary Secondary School Education (Form IV) with passes in English and Kiswahili should also hold a Class “C” valid Driving License coupled with at least 3 years of clean driving experience. <br />
