JOB TITLE: CREDIT OFFICER
Department: CONSUMER AND BUSINESS BANKING Reporting: SERVICE CENTRE SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for empowering women through business training and advancement of capital. Focus on recruiting new potential borrowers, examining loans applications, advising potential borrowers, facilitate and build Savings Culture and Monitoring Loans Repayments.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
The applicant must possess both technical and soft skills to obtain this job. The technical skills should be supported by academic qualification and experience while the soft skills are based on attitudes and related competencies.

The applicant must hold a Bachelor's Degree/ Advance Diploma in Banking, Economics, Finance or Accounting. She/he should have 2 to 3 years of experience in banking sector and/or equivalent financial institution. Knowledge and experience on microfinance is of an added advantage.

The soft skills are essential for this post. These include proven compassion and passionate on community and women development agenda, excellent communication and customer service skills, positive attitude, ability to listen and independent analysis of individual situations within a larger context framework.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Meet with business women to determine their needs and recommend the right loan products to help meet their goals;
• Maintain an active knowledge base of the Bank's loan products and services offered and advice clients accordingly;
• Identify and recommend products that meets the customer's needs and the Bank's lending guidelines;
• Utilize professional judgement to determine which potential clients qualify to borrow per the Bank's Lending Policy and Procedures.
• Appraise client loan applications to ensure compliance;
• Provide technical support and training to borrowing groups or individuals;
• Submit required reports and attend group meetings on daily/ weekly basis;
• Facilitate credit product designing and packaging;
• Identify training needs and supervise loans on a weekly basis following the procedures put in place;
• Delinquent loan management and recovery;
• Attend group/center meetings on daily basis;
• Visit prospective clients' businesses and provide recommendations;
• Perform any other 'duties as may be assigned by the Branch Manager and/or Head of Department.
