Project Title: "Country package "Forest landscape restoration and good governance in the forest sector" (Forests4Future) in Togo"
Duration: 40 expert months

The main responsibilities and tasks of the international team leader would be:
Overall responsibility for the advisory package of the contractor
Ensure coherence and complementarity of the services of the contractor with other services delivered by the programme at local and national level
Conception, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of capacity development measures for local partners in the areas of natural resource management, land use planning, sustainable development
Consideration of cross-cutting topics (e.
g. 

gender equality)
Personnel management, in particular identifying the need for short-term assignments within the available budget, as well as planning and steering assignments and supporting local and international short-term experts
Ensure monitoring of results
Regular reporting in accordance with deadlines
Responsibility for controlling the use of funds and financial planning in consultation with GIZ’s project manager responsible for the commission (AV)
Supporting the project manager for the commission in updating and/or adapting the project strategy, in evaluations and in preparing a follow-on phase
Maintaining contact with other donors and the German embassy
Regular participation in coordination meetings of SEWOH projects in Togo and exchange with the coordinator
Ensuring the exchange with other GIZ projects in the intervention region and while carrying out activities in the prefecture of Tchamba (ProCIV, ProEnergie, ProDEG)
Required qualifications and expertise: S/he ideally has or comes close to the following expertise:
University qualification (being equivalent to a German ‘Diplom’/Master) in Environmental, Agricultural, Political or Forestry Sciences
Fluency in German, good knowledge of French and English
10 years of professional experience in project management and financial management
5-8 years of professional experience in the Natural Resources, Forest or Rural Development
sector with a focus on sustainable forest management, Forest Landscape Restoration
3-5 years of leadership experience as team leader in projects or executive in companies
3-5 years of experience in projects in francophone Africa (optional: 2 of them in projects in Togo)
6 years of experience in DC projects
Experience in financial management, knowledge / understanding of GIZ procedures and processes
