<b><u>Nature and Scope </u></b><br />
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Legal Services and Board Secretary.  He/She will be responsible for carrying out legal and Board/Management secretariat duties, including ensuring that the bank is well advised on all legal issues involving its operations.<br />

 Support the Head of Legal Services and Board Secretary on any matters related to legal undertakings involving the bank; <br />
 Coordinate preparation, execution and registration of contracts and other legal documents;<br />
 Prepare documents for civil suits/litigations;<br />
 Investigate statutory registers to determine legal status of loan applications, securities held by them and borrowing capacities;<br />
 Prepare, execute, register, monitor and keep custody of loan documents, statutory registrations and pre-disbursement conditions;<br />
 Represent the bank in Courts of Law and Tribunals;<br />
 Assist the Head of Legal Services and Board Secretary on all matters including Board secretarial duties;  Carry out any other related duties as may be assigned to him/her by the Supervisor from time to time. Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:<br />
 Master’s Degree/Postgraduate qualifications in Law.<br />
 Minimum of four (4) years’ post-qualification experience in a corporate law environment, two (2) of which must be at Senior Officer level.<br />
 Admission as Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania.<br />
 Ability to assess material evidence and advice on appropriate legal measures.<br />
 Ability to deliver accurate, concise and timely minutes of meetings and other records of the bank’s engagements;<br />
 Keeps abreast of legal issues that affect the business of the employer, in this case the bank.<br />
 Strong written and communication skills with ability to write documentation in a concise and focused style;<br />
 Good communication and interpersonal skills.<br />

 To coordinate and monitor agriculture and rural lending activities with a view to maximizing the impact of agricultural growth by working closely with the Ministries and institutions responsible for Agriculture, Regional Administration as well as the numerous players active in this sector; </div>

<b><u>Nature and Scope </u></b><br />
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Legal Services and Board Secretary. He/She will be responsible for preparing, executing and registration of loan documents, statutory registrations and ensuring compliance with the pre-disbursement conditions.<br />

<b><u>Key Responsibilities </u></b><br />
 Check all legal issues pertaining to loan applications before, during and after approval to ensure the bank’s interests are safeguarded;<br />
 Prepare loan/security documents and ensure prompt registration of the security documents at the relevant registries;<br />
 Investigate statutory registers to determine legal status of loan applicants, securities and borrowing capacities;<br />
 Prepare information and report to the Head of Legal Services and Board Secretary that conditions precedent to disbursement has been fulfilled as per the respective agreement;<br />
 Ensure that borrowers fulfill all terms and conditions in the loan agreements at all times;<br />
 Ensure that borrowers fulfill all statutory requirements (under the Companies Ordinance, Bank of Tanzania regulations/guidelines or any others) at all times;<br />
 Assist in preparation of documents for civil suits/litigation and conduct of court cases for the bank;<br />
 Assist and represent the bank in all legal matters outside the bank and in courts;<br />
 Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.<br />

<b><u>Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience </u></b><br />
 Bachelor Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized University/Institution.  <br />
 Must be a Registered Advocate.<br />
 At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a reputable institution.<br />
 Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to prepare legal documents in a concise and focused style.<br />
 Highest degree of integrity, excellent and well developed interpersonal and organizational skills.<br />
 Must be a team player, very self-motivated and able to manage and prioritize work load with minimum supervision. <br />
 Should have computer skills.<br />
